Hamilton Recommends Replacing Air Filters During Allergy Season
August 23, 2023
Taking into account the current high levels of grass pollen in Johnson County and surrounding areas, Hamilton Plumbing, Heating, A/C, Rooter advises residents to schedule an inspection of their air conditioning unit and replace the air filter to improve indoor air quality and ease allergy symptoms.
On June 7, 2019 Weather.com reported high levels of grass pollen in Johnson County, 124 ppm, and forecasted very high levels of pollen for the weekend and early next week. According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, “The most common indoor/outdoor allergy triggers are: tree, grass and weed pollen, mold spores, dust mites, cockroaches, and cat, dog and rodent dander.”
Late spring and early summer are particularly difficult times for individuals with allergies. We recommend replacing your home’s air filter to help reduce exposure to pollen. Your home should be off limits to pollen and a clean air filter is key.
A clogged air filter can cause dust and debris to be brought into the home and recirculate, impacting air quality and aggravating allergy symptoms. In addition, a clogged air filter can lead to expensive inefficiencies and even furnace failure. To prevent either of these things from occurring, Hamilton Plumbing, Heating, A/C, Rooter encourages residents to inquire about replacing their air filter and conducting a routine inspection of their air conditioning unit.
